Hey lovelies,
I decided to create a series of "Drugstore" posts that will hopefully help you find some products within a budget that will suit you. This post is going to be focusing on highlighters under £5. There will be a £5-£10 post coming next week. You can pick these up in Superdrug, Boots, Savers or online.
I have a range of highlighters that range from blinding to subtle glows. I have some cream products, some powders and some palettes. I have anything from an whites, to pinks, to golden shades.

All my highlighters live in their own little tub... ignore the palettes, they'll be in another post ;)
I've decided to do these by brand, because it's simpler easier. :)
Makeup Revolution:
Makeup Revolution are known for the blinding highlights at reasonable prices.
I have multiple Vivid Baked Highlighters which are all priced under £3. The pigmentation on all of them are amazing, and honestly worth the price. The packaging is very simplistic, it’s a black base with a clear lid – nothing fancy which is right up my alley. I like to see my product. I don’t find any of the highlighters to be overly cakey… but they are certainly very pigmented – some more than others.
Peach Lights:

As the name suggests, this is a peachy toned highlight. Perfect to pair with pink/rose toned blushes. It gives you a really… natural glow. Perfect for daily wear. It doesn’t look too peach on the skin, more white/pink and it doesn’t have the same level of pigmentation as some of the others – but that’s never a bad thing, you can build it up more.
Rose Gold:

I’ll admit, I honestly don’t know why I brought this. It’s a dark highlighter, perfect if you aren’t as pale as a ghost like me. But like, it’s rose gold… I had to have it. (It’s perfect as blush or eyeshadow) I was really drawn to the pattern within the highlighter – what can I say, I’m a sucker for pretty things. It’s quiet a vivid rose gold shade, it’s honestly amazing. I’d suggest this for everyone, because you can use it as a blush/highlight/eyeshadow.
Golden Lights:

This is the perfect summery shade. It’s a yellowy gold highlight with tiny specks of golden shimmer. I love how this leaves you looking very…. Glowy and not shining like a disco ball.
Moon Glow Lights:

This shade is a lovely pinkish colour, it’s not as blinding as other shades but it’s still a shimmery highlighter. There are some finely milled shimmers which don’t show up on the skin. I find that the natural pink colour gives a beautiful illuminating finish to the skin. You have to really build up this colour to get a strobed look, but for daily wear, just one or two swipes is enough.
Freedom Pro Makeup:
Freedom is a sister brand of Makeup Revolution, I only have one of their highlighters. The one I have doesn’t have the same blinding shimmer as my Revolution ones, but I think it’s more of a subtle glow. Just like Revolution, they cost £3.00 each.
Diffused:

I’ve heard rumours that this is a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient lighting powers which cost £38.00. I don’t own one so I can’t compare… but I’ll pick the £3.00 option every time. The shade is a light pink tone, blend-able and buildable. I certainly think this is supposed to be a light glow, not a blinding glow.
I Heart Makeup:
Another sister brand of Makeup Revolution, I Heart Makeup often features amazingly cute products and dupes for bigger brands. All the heart shaped highlighters are £4.99. (An amazing price for something that beautifully packaged!)
Unicorn Heart:

This highlighter has been featured on basically every single makeup website I’ve seen. You can honestly achieve the perfect unicorn glow with this. It’s buildable, blends beautifully and it’s just… stunning. When swirled together, it gives off a silvery chromatic glow. But you can actually swipe each colour separate and get 5 different highlight shades.
MUA Luxe:
MUA Luxe is the fancier range from MUA Cosmetics (I think, I just assume because of the name and the beautiful packaging) Both products are £5.00 each.
Strobe and Glow: Pearl Gold:

This is a funky little product, it’s a multi-formula compact with cream and powder formulas. It comes in a little pink metallic little compact, which has a mirror in the lid. You lift up the powder level and viola, there is the cream. The packaging doesn’t feel flimsy and it looks so good sitting on the shelf.
The powder is a pale white shade, with gold throughout. It’s so subtle on the skin, but it can be built up without coming across cakey. The cream is a pearly, golden shimmer which looks amazing on the skin. It feels greasy, but it doesn’t look greasy. Overall, for £5.00 this is a really good product.
Ombre 3 Shade Shimmer Stick:

I honestly don’t get this product… I mean, I do and I don’t. I’ve used it a few times and it looks awesome, but I just don’t think I’m using it right. The product is a cream based highlight, blush and bronze all in one. This is one of those products that gives you that glow like you’re sitting by candlelight, like you’re glowy and dewy and perfect.
The product has a beautiful pale gold shade that I think suits all products. My only words of wisdom about this product is that you need to keep this somewhere cool, mine melted ever so slightly and now falls out when I hold it upside down.
Savers:
"Dazzle" Gold Highlighter:

I won't lie, I brought this thinking it was an eyeshadow but it actually says baked highlighter on the back. As you can see, it's a golden highlighter. I've not tried it on the skin, so I can't tell you if it looks good but it's an amazing eyeshadow! Plus, this only costs £1.00.
----------
So, there you have it. 9 highlighters from the drugstore that cost £5.00 or less. All of these products look different and they're all so pigmented for the price points. My £5-£10 highlighters post will be coming soon.
Xo Nyxie.
