My Skincare Routine

If I had to say, on a scale of 1 to 100, how much I dreaded this post, the answer is 110. I'm not even kidding. But I put up a poll on twitter and this can in second.

There is a legit reason I dreaded this post. My skincare "routine" - if you can call it that - is basically non-existent. I'm useless with my skin, and then I bitch and moan when I breakout and my pores are huge. I mean, I am full of good intentions. I've got a buttload of skincare products, but I just don't use them. I wish I could say I'm one of those girls who does her skincare routine every morning and night and drinks plenty of water, but I'm so far from that kind of girl its scary.

I decided to round up the products which I use enough to class as a routine. I don't use them everyday but I try... if I remember.

These are the products I use. There is a good mix here, cleansing water and toner. Moisturiser and sunscreen. A strange oil that seems to do everything and a spot stick. All basis covered, right? (Who am I kidding, I am not a skincare guru.)

Malibu Face Cream Sunscreen in SPF 50:

Out of all these products, this is what I use daily. I don't do sunlight and I want my skin to be safe. I'm not messing around when it comes to the health of my skin, so if I can fight off skin cancer and stay pale like a ghost - I'm doing it. This is a handy sun cream, it's purse friendly so I keep it in my makeup bag.

Wikaniko Moringa Oil:

This is the strange oil that does everything. I've got two post up about this already, a review and a 5 things you can use the product for post. I love this product, and I'm not just saying that because I was sent the product. It's brilliant; it helps with breakouts, it removes makeup and dirt, it's anti-aging and it's organic. It's a holy grail oil in a pump bottle! If you haven't read my full review, check them out.

Nivea Daily Essentials Sensitive 3 in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water:

That is a mouthful, isn't it? I loooove Micellar Water. I've got about 3 bottles of it going, one is an oil one, one travel sized one plus the one you can see above. Either way, they're awesome. They remove makeup and dirt like magic and they don't feel icky on your skin. If you haven't tried this for makeup removal, you need to get one. Yesterday.

L'Oréal Skin Perfection Velvety Soft Toner:

I won't lie to you. I've hardly touched this. I'm still bitter that this cost me £2.00 in the £1.00 shop. (It's so wrong they can have specials that aren't £1) but also, I don't get toners. I get that it's supposed to cleanse and tone the skin, reducing the appearance of pores (thanks google) but I don't see a difference when I use it. Maybe I'm just impatient but I'm trying to use it when I wash my face. Trying is the key word here people.

Dove Rich Nourishment Cream:

My mum gave me this... I can't remember why but all I know is it lasts ages and it feels nice on my face. I use it at night on my dry patches and sometimes as a primer before makeup. There isn't much I can say about it, except it's really nice and smells good too! It says it's a body cream, but it does say from head to toe so I argue that means it's a face cream too.

Elf Acne Spot Treatment:

I've had this product for less than a week, so I can't really give you much info. It's used up to three times a day in a thin layer over the spots. I assume it dries them up and makes them go away? I've only just got a breakout bad enough to use it on, so I'll update you if it's any good. I've heard good things about the Elf Acne range, so hopefully it's good. I'd love to get my hands on the Acne fighting foundation that they do.

So, there you have it... might not really routine. I'm trying a lot harder to look after my skin, but usually when the evening rolls around I'm too lazy to do it. Any tips on how to make skincare less dull?

Xo Nyxie.
